# Botanical Research Institute of Texas - Digital

> Landing page (britorg.github.io) for the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT). It
> contains no datasets or tools itself; it points to fwbg.github.io, where BRIT's digital
> resources are published together with those of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden (FWBG).

BRIT is the research arm of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden (FWBG). In 2020 the two organizations
merged into a single nonprofit, so content may carry either name — FWBG generally refers to the
garden and its living collections, and BRIT refers to the research side, including the
herbarium (about 1.5 million specimens), library, laboratories, seed bank, and publishing
division.

For BRIT's digital datasets, dashboards, and applications, go to
[fwbg.github.io](https://fwbg.github.io/) (its own [llms.txt](https://fwbg.github.io/llms.txt)
describes what is available there). For the organization's main website (visiting, programs,
general information), see [brit.org](https://www.brit.org) and [fwbg.org](https://fwbg.org).
